Community Resources Assistant

Position Summary:  Manages the 211 database system through identification of strategies for data enhancement.  Including the analysis of data reports and the preparation of information relative to current trends and unmet needs.  Report development determined by audience need and ranges from simple to complex.

Essential Functions 

Manage 211 Database Systems

  • Manage the integrity of the referral sources with the 211 database system and ensures information is accurate and up to date.
  • Develop strategies for integrating new data points within the 211 database.
  • Develop an information base which tracks requests for information & referral; utilize visual graphics to display trends over time.
  • Provide updates to the 2-1-1 team about new services, changes in the resource information, and changes to the functions of the information and referral software or other community resource elements.
  • Identifies and provides the 2-1-1 team information about disaster response and other services in the event of a disaster or similar crisis that impairs the usual delivery of health and human services.

Monitor and Analyze Trends in Health and Human Services

  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative program data with a focus on basic needs information.
  • Monitor trends in health and human services and assist in identifying appropriate community indicators to gauge community conditions.
  • Develop reports in partnership with Director of 211 and the Vice President  - Agency Impact.

Participate in Community Problem Solving

  • Participate on ad-hoc and ongoing committees as they pertain to information resource management, program effectiveness, data collection, management and dissemination.
  • Participate on community committees and projects.
  • Continue education on emerging and existing community issues, systems and funding streams.
  • Provides Information and Referral Services during spikes in requests, staff absences or other times of need.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • 1-3 years experience in human services or related field.
  • Working knowledge of data management principles, including database design and Access software.
  • Ability to communicate complex information into laymen’s terms using written, oral and electronic mediums.
  • A broad knowledge of and connections with the non-profit community.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse population.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications.
  • High level of organization and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with set deadlines/guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to engender the trust and confidence of volunteers.
  • Certified Resource Specialist through Alliance of Information and Referral Systems preferred.
